lyrics

Know Somebody

She was standing on the edge of the rain, falling down.
Said that she had gotten tired of this old, six-shot town.
The place that she left for, tore her roots, right out of the ground.
Needed to know if she was lost Lord, could she be found?

She found me down by the factory line, where the moon talks to the train.
I kissed her once for her troubles Lord, kissed her again and I meant it the same.

She said, “Did you ever want to know somebody, the way you know yourself?
Maybe box the past away, pick it up and throw it on the shelf?
All I want to do is run away with you, and I never will change my mind.”
I said, “Darlin’ that’s fine. Baby that’s fine.”

She met me down by the record store, on the corner of the Western parts.
I drove her south to Atlanta bound, on the way to her heart.
She found me down by the factory line, where the moon talks to the train.
I kissed her once for her troubles Lord, kissed her again and I meant it the same.
